• Treatment of infestations by fleas, ticks and biting lice (in cats) • Prevention of the multiplication of fleas • Fipronil/(S)-Methoprene Indications: In cats: For use against infestations by fleas alone or infestations mixed by fleas and ticks and/or biting lice: Elimination of fleas (Ctenocephalides spp.). The insecticidal efficacy against new infestations by adult fleas persists for 4 weeks. Prevention of flea multiplication by inhibiting the development of eggs (ovicidal activity), larvae and pupae (larvicidal activity) from eggs laid by adult fleas for 6 weeks after application. Elimination of ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor variabilis, Rhipicephalus sanguineus). The product has an acaricidal efficacy against ticks which persists according to experimental data for up to 2 weeks. Elimination of biting lice (Felicola subrostratus). The drug can be integrated into a treatment program for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (DAPP), when it has been previously diagnosed by the veterinarian. Composition: Active substances: Fipronil 50 mg, (S)-Methoprene 60 mg. Excipients: Butylhydroxyanisole (E320) 0.1 mg, Butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 0.05 mg. Method of administration: Remove the pipette from its packaging. Hold the pipette upright, unscrew and remove the cap. Flip the cap over and place it upside down on the pipette. Press and twist the cap to break the seal. Remove the cap from the pipette. Part the hair on the back of the animal, at the base of the neck, between the shoulder blades to make the skin visible. Apply the tip of the pipette directly to the skin of the animal and press the pipette several times in order to empty it of its contents directly on the skin, at one point. Advice for correct administration: In the absence of tolerance data, the minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks. Waiting time: Not applicable. Do not use this veterinary medicinal product after the expiry date which is stated on the label after Exp. The expiration date is the last day of that month. Special warnings: Fleas in pets often infest their basket, sleeping area and usual resting areas like carpets and sofas. In the event of a massive infestation, at the start of treatment, these areas should be treated with a suitable insecticide and vacuumed regularly. No data evaluating the effect of a bath or shampoo on the efficacy of the product in cats and ferrets are available. However, based on information available in shampooed dogs from 2 days after product application, it is not recommended to bathe animals within 2 days of product application. Avoid contact with the animal's eyes. It is important to ensure that the product is applied to an area where the animal cannot lick it off and to ensure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. The attachment of isolated ticks remains possible. For this reason, the transmission of infectious diseases cannot be completely excluded if the conditions are unfavourable. Route of administration and dosage: Cat: External use only, spot-on. One pipette of 0.5 ml per cat, corresponding to the minimum recommended dose of 5 mg of Fipronil per kg of body weight and 6 mg of (S)-Methoprene per kg of body weight, for topical application on the skin. In cats, the product can be used during pregnancy. The potential toxicity of the product in kittens less than 8 weeks old in contact with a treated cat has not been documented. Specific precautions should be taken in this case. In cats, itching may appear following treatment. An overdose of the product may cause a sticky appearance of the hair at the site of application. However, in this case, these signs will disappear within 24 hours of application. Ferret: One pipette of 0.5 ml per ferret, corresponding to the minimum recommended dose of 50 mg of Fipronil per kg of body weight and 60 mg of (S)-Methoprene per ferret, for topical application to the skin. In ferrets: laboratory studies in cats have not revealed any teratogenic, foetotoxic or maternotoxic effects. In ferrets, the safety of this veterinary medicinal product has not been tested during pregnancy and lactation. Use should only be made after evaluation of the benefit/risk ratio established by the veterinarian. In ferrets 6 months of age and older and treated once every 2 weeks for four treatments, at 5 times the recommended dose, weight loss was observed in a few animals. The risk of causing side effects may increase in the event of an overdose (see section “Side effects (frequency and seriousness)”). Contraindications: In the absence of available data, do not treat kittens under 8 weeks and/or weighing less than 1 kg. Do not use the product in ferrets under 6 months old. Do not use in sick animals (for example: systemic diseases, fever) or convalescents. Do not use in rabbits due to the risk of adverse reactions or even death. Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or to any of the excipients. Adverse effects: Do not overdose. In cats: Among the very rarely suspected adverse reactions, transient skin reactions at the site of application (desquamation, localized hair loss, itching, redness) as well as generalized itching or hair loss have been reported. Excessive salivation, reversible nervous signs (increased sensitivity to stimulation, depression, other nervous signs) or vomiting have also been observed after use. In case of licking, a brief period of excessive salivation due mainly to the nature of the excipient can be observed. If you notice any serious side effects or other effects not listed in this leaflet, please inform your veterinarian. Special storage conditions: Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store in the original outer packaging in order to protect from light and moisture. This veterinary medicinal product does not require any special temperature storage conditions.
